William Lassiter, better known as “Moot”, son of the late Gilbert Lassiter and Lucille Haywood Freeman, was born on March 3, 1948 in Wake County, North Carolina. He entered into ‘Eternal Peace’ on Sunday, December 31, 2017.

William received his early education in the Wake County Public School System.

William joined the United States Army in 1968 and received an honorable discharge after his tour of duty. He resided in Pennsylvania from 1980 until 2003. After returning to North Carolina, he was employed at Iron Works as a Welder in Zebulon, NC.

William will be most remembered for his kind heart. Whenever he entered a room you would know he was there, because he was so full of life.

William was always willing to help in anyway he could. He was also well known for his talent of working on cars.

William Lassiter leaves to cherish his precious memories; one son, William Ford, one stepson, Robert Ford, and one grandson, Jayden Ford, all of Philadelphia, PA; four sisters, Doris Pullen (Henry), Mary Ann Freeman (James), Linda Brandon (James) and Shirlene Pullen (William), all of Raleigh, NC; very special cousins, Peggy Ann Haywood and Hubert Dunn; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

His service is scheduled for Saturday January 6, 2018 in the C A Haywood, Sr. Memorial Chapel beginning at 11:00 AM for the visitation. The service starts at 11:30 AM followed by the burial at Riley Hill Baptist Church Cemetery in Wendell, NC.
