Robert Winston Lacy was born on November 14, 1939, to Robert and Ruth Lacy in Elkton, Maryland. Robert departed this earthly life on Monday, March 26, 2018. Growing up, Robert and his sister Janice faithfully attended First Baptist Church in Mamaroneck, New York with their mother. Robert’s father passed away when Robert was eleven years old.

Robert was educated in the Mamaroneck Public Schools and graduated with the class of 1958. Upon graduation, Robert enlisted in the United States Air Force. After serving his final tour in the Philippines, Robert returned to the states in 1961 and on February 25, 1961, Robert married the love of his life, Dolores Pouncey. As a result of their union, Stephen Brian Lacy was born on May 19, 1966. Robert was honorably discharged from the United States Air Force in 1963, at which time he became employed by William Burns International Detective Agency and later with Alexanders Department Store.

In 1980, Robert began working with the State of New York as a uniformed court officer. Robert retired from the New York State Court System in 1998 and he and Dolores relocated to Greensboro, North Carolina. On February 25, 2003, Robert became the proudest grandfather ever, when his granddaughter Nya Kristin was born. Bob and Dolores joined Calvary Christian Center on May 3, 2014.

Bob was a devoted and loving husband and father and is survived by his wife of fifty-seven (57) years, Dolores, son Stephen (Nicole) granddaughter Nya, sister Janice (Robert), many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Bob will always be remembered for his quiet manner and easygoing spirit.

Funeral service at 12:00 noon Wednesday, April 4, 2018 at Calvary Christian Center, 369 Air Harbor Road, Greensboro, NC preceded by an 11:30 AM visitation. Interment will take place at 11:00 AM Thursday, April 5, 2018 at Carolina Biblical Gardens.
