Frederick Sanders’ 83 years on earth were filled with joy. He loved his family; he loved his friends; and, he loved to work. But, on Monday, February 26, 2018, he was called home to rest and to live a life of eternal joy.
Fred was born on January 4, 1935, to the late Herman and Viola Sanders in Clayton, North Carolina. And, he was educated in Johnston County schools. After completing his education, he moved to Raleigh, North Carolina and worked for Dorothea Dix Hospital, Rockwell, North Carolina State University, Colonial Warehouse, Raleigh Housing Authority, and ACE Courier. He was easy- going, fun-loving, and hardworking.
Fred was spiritually nurtured by Christian parents in a loving Christian home. He joined Avery’s Grove A.M.E. Zion Church at an early age. And, his parents taught him the essence of reverence and love for the Lord. As a result, he purposed to live life to the fullest. He enjoyed the life he lived, and he lived the life that he enjoyed.
Fred leaves to cherish and celebrate his memories, his four sisters: Martine Leach in Willow Springs, NC; Emma Jean Moore in Raleigh, NC; Evangeline (Howard) Hood in Durham, NC; and, Helen (Leslie) Graham in Raleigh, NC; five nieces and nephews: Jarsette (Walter) Denning, Rosalind Fonville, Stanley Moore, Paula (Sherman) Newman, and Nicole Peebles; ten great nieces and nephews; his exwife and lifetime friend: Eudora Sanders; and, a host of relatives and friends, all of whom will miss him dearly
Funeral service at 12:00 noon Friday March 2, 2018 at Johnston Piney Grove Missionary Baptist Church, 1691 Barber Mill Road, Clayton, NC preceded by an 11:30 AM visitation. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
Viewing from 2:00 - 8:00 pm Thursday March 1, 2018 at Haywood Funeral Home

Celebrating the life of Frederick Sanders
Thank you for signing Frederick Sanders's Guestbook
We can look forward to the day when there will be no more sickness and death. Revelation 21:4 says: "And he (God) will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away". Please accept my sincere condolences. Always remember God loves you and he cares for you! (Psalm 36:7; 1 Peter 5:7)
