Rosa M. Wright Scott, daughter of the late Henry Jones, Sr. and Viola Smith Jones, was born of September 2, 1934 in Wendell, North Carolina, (Johnston County).

Rosa attended and graduated from James E. Sheperd High School in Zebulon, North Carolina in 1955. After graduating, she was a domestic employee specialist. She moved to Raleigh and worked for Watson Poultry and Seafood for many years prior to retiring.

Rosa’s pastime (leisure pleasure) was singing, fishing, and watching her soap operas. She dearly enjoyed her grandchildren and really loved dressing up.

Rosa was a pilar to her community [Camden Street], and she was a Mother and Friend to many. She was united in holy matrimony to the late John Scott. Rosa was also preceded in death by her brother Henry Jones, Jr.

Rosa M. Wright Scott leaves to cherish her memories; her ex-husband, Rex Wright who was truly faithful and supporting until the end. She also leaves: Cynthia Edwards (Paul) Carlain, Rosalie Wright, Hirosha Wright (Pana), Annette Wright, Antwan Wright (Veronica), and Nikki Wright, all of Raleigh, NC; one stepdaughter, Faye Manuel; fourteen grandchildren (one preceded her in death); twenty-three great grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will take place on Wednesday, January 17, 2018 at 1:00 PM at the C.A. Haywood Sr. Memorial Chapel with visitation preceding the service at 12:00 PM.

Public viewing will take place on Tuesday, January 16, 2018 at Haywood Funeral Home from 2-8 PM.
